IN THIS PART YOU WILL READ THE REST OF PART1 WAYS WAYS TO KEEP READERS ON YOUR BLOG
Use social proof
When you’re choosing which restaurant to erode , does one choose one with many 5-star reviews or one with a couple of 5-star reviews
My guess it might be the one with many reviews. Why? Because you've got social proof that it’s good
You can provide social proof on your blog. If you've got tons of subscribers, tell people what percentage you've got . If you’re getting tons of comments on your posts, highlight what percentage people have commented. And if you've got tons of followers on social media, show those numbers also
Increase interaction
People are far more likely to return back to your blog if they’ve left a comment, voted during a poll, entered a contest or participated during a challenge
So invite people to comment and participate in your blog. Create challenges and encourage your readers to require part. Get them interacting together with your blog, with you, and with one another
Be as personal as you'll
Over the years I’ve found that folks are much more likely to subscribe and connect with a person's being than they're with a brand
You get can personal on your blog by using your photo, by telling stories, and by using different mediums like podcasts and videos. That way people aren’t just reading your words. they will also hear your voice, and even see what you actually appear as if
Your readers will feel they need a true reference to you. and that they are going to be more inclined to stay returning
Remove the dates on your old blog posts
I’ll admit this is often a touch controversial. And it'll depend upon the sort of content you’re writing. But if you write tons of evergreen content, it'll stop people thinking it’s useless simply because it wasn’t written within the past month approximately
I do that on photography School because we talk tons about concepts that don’t change over time. I still link to a post about aperture that I wrote eight years ago. and that i don’t want people judging the content by when it had been first written
it’s important for us to stay the dates on those particular posts
Give people an incentive to subscribe
One way to encourage people to subscribe your blog is to supply them something reciprocally , like a free download. Just confine mind that some people may subscribe just to urge what you’re offering then unsubscribe
A better option could be to supply them ongoing benefits. you'll offer them a free course, which you'll deliver via email over variety of weeks. That way they’ll have more incentive to hold around
Just confirm what you’re offering is top quality and relevant to what your blog is about
Work on your About page
One of the foremost highly read pages on any blog is that the About page. People use it to seek out out
what your blog is about
who is behind it
whether you’re credible and know what you’re talking about
what kind of style you've got
So confirm you employ it effectively. i exploit it to inform my story, which may be a good way to not only be relatable but also mention the advantages of subscribing
Have different messages for various readers
Not everyone arrives on your blog within the same state. all of them have different intentions. a method you'll tell is by checking out where they came from. And there are some great tools that permit you deliver different messages to people supported whether or not they arrived Google, Facebook, Twitter or elsewhere
concentrate to the parts of your blog getting traction
If a specific post on your blog is getting tons of tourists , attempt to cash in of that traffic. for instance , you could
add a call for participation to subscribe
add some ‘Further reading’ links to other posts in your archive
write a follow-up post
In the youth of photography School we published 10 Tips for Portrait Photography, which did rather well . every week later I followed it up with 10 More Tips for Portrait Photography, then linked the 2 posts together. Linking the second post to the primary drove tons more traffic to our site
